We source real traditional salumi made by hand, not machine, the way Italians intended it to be. Traditionally made local and imported cheeses, our own line of dips, antipasti and fresh platters are our specialty. Only food hand-crafted, ethically-raised or farm-fresh makes its from our door to yours. We are the all-occasion specialists! We bring our point-of-difference to your weddings, birthdays, engagement proposals, baby showers and gifts....our grazing tables, platters and boxes are an 'artwork of food'.

My earliest of memories was standing on my tippy toes in front of fridge trying to get my most-beloved salame. "Is that you in the fridge again Shane," my parents would shout out when they heard the fridge door creak. The love affair with cured meats still reigns strong to this day which has inspired me to embark on a journey of rediscovery of my family's Italian traditions and love of all things Italian. Now living in Sydney, its hard to believe just a generation ago my dad and uncle as young boys on my Nonno and Nonna's farm on the Northern Rivers of NSW, would help prepare the family pig at dusk in preparation for that season's salumi. Stories of hand milked cows, churned homemade butters, exploding homemade ginger ale and the freshest-of-fresh homemade gelato, all made with love, by my Nonna and Aunty, who is now the guardian of the family's recipe book. These are the stories that I hope to re-create with my young family. I hope, by sharing this journey with you, that you and your loved ones can experience this not just as our costumer but as a part of The Salted Pig Salumeria family. Holding strong ties and close communication with suppliers is paramount, which enables us to know our products well and how they are sourced and how everything we use is sustainable, farm-fresh or ethically raised - all words that unfortunately have to be used in this day-and-age to know that what you are eating is closest to its purest state. I hope one day we can all just call it food. A big shout out goes to all the farmers and producers who are keeping traditions alive and who are thinking about future generations. Thank you.
